Free Invoice Generator

Mileage calculator

Enter the distances you drove for a client and your rate, add any travel time and costs, and this works out what to bill. If the distance and the rate are in different units, it converts between kilometres and miles.

Distance

Enter each distance one way. Return bills it twice, for the drive home.

Mileage rate

The rate your contract or your client agreed, to a fraction of a cent if it is quoted that way. Official mileage rates differ by country and can change from year to year, so none is filled in for you.

Travel time optional
Other travel costs optional

Fares, tolls, parking: billed at what you paid.

What the mileage calculator does not do

  • It does not measure distances. Use the figure from your route planner or your odometer; this bills what you enter.
  • It does not know an official mileage rate. Where a tax authority publishes one, it is usually the most that can be paid or claimed without tax, not a rate anyone has to charge. In the UK that is HMRC's mileage rates, and in the US the IRS standard mileage rate.
  • It does not add tax. Whether travel is taxed, and at what rate, depends on where you and your client are; add it in the invoice generator if it applies.
  • It does not keep anything. Nothing is written to your browser's storage while you use it and nothing is sent to us, so the figures are gone when you close the tab. Press Create this invoice if you need a document: the figures are handed to the invoice generator in this tab, cleared as soon as it opens, and saved there as a new invoice alongside any you already have.
