What this calculator does not do
- It does not keep anything. Nothing is written to your browser's storage while you use it and nothing is sent to us, so the figures are gone when you close the tab. Press Create this invoice if you need a document: the figures are handed to the invoice generator in this tab, cleared as soon as it opens, and saved there as a new invoice alongside any you already have.
- It does not know your tax rate, and it does not check whether you are required to charge tax at all. It applies the rate you type.
- It applies one tax rate to the whole invoice. A line-by-line rate, which is what a mixed-rate invoice needs, is not supported here.
- It is not tax advice. It is arithmetic, and the responsibility for the numbers going in stays with you.

Billing time rather than a quantity of something? The hourly invoice calculator takes hours and an hourly rate, and keeps expenses in a section of their own. For one amount and one rate, the VAT calculator also works backwards from a total that already includes the tax, and the sales tax calculator does the same over a combined state, county and city rate. For what is left of the total once the payment processor has taken its share, the payment fee calculator works in both directions.
Once the figures are settled, the invoice due date calculator works out the day the money is actually due — Net 30, working days, or counted from the end of the month — and the late payment fee calculator picks it up from the day that passes.
A discount here comes off for everyone, whenever they pay. For one that applies only if the invoice is paid early, which is a different thing with a cost of its own, there is the early payment discount calculator.
